Course Description
This course is designed for clinicians seeking to refresh and strengthen their knowledge and skills in the safe and effective administration of local anesthesia. Through a series of instructional videos, attendees will review relevant head and neck anatomy, local anesthetic pharmacology, armamentarium selection, injection techniques, patient assessment, pain control strategies, and the prevention and management of common complications and medical emergencies associated with local anesthesia administration. Step-by-step demonstrations provide practical guidance to help clinicians achieve profound anesthesia while enhancing patient comfort and safety.
Course Objectives

- Discuss the pharmacology, indications, contraindications, and clinical considerations of commonly used local anesthetic agents and vasoconstrictors.
- Identify and select appropriate local anesthesia armamentarium based on patient and procedural needs.
- Recognize anatomical landmarks, insertion sites, needle penetration depths, and anesthetic deposition volumes associated with commonly utilized injection techniques.
- Demonstrate knowledge of proper administration techniques for PSA, MSA, ASA, IO, GP, NP, IAN, Buccal, Lingual, and Mental/Incisive nerve blocks through video-based instructions.
