Deanna Otts-Whitfield, MSHQS, BSDH, RDH, CDIPC, is a nationally recognized speaker, author, consultant, and dental professional dedicated to advancing patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance. A United States Marine Corps veteran, she brings disciplined leadership, integrity, and a commitment to excellence to every aspect of her work.

Deanna earned a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Texas Woman’s University and an Executive Master of Healthcare Quality and Safety from Sam Houston State University. She is also Certified in Dental Infection Prevention and Control (CDIPC) through the Association for Dental Safety.

With more than 17 years of experience in dentistry, Deanna is the founder of The Prevention Standard, where she partners with dental practices to strengthen OSHA compliance, infection prevention, risk management, and clinical quality through practical, evidence-based solutions.

A respected leader in the profession, Deanna has served on the boards of the Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association, the Texas Oral Health Coalition, and the Minnesota Dental Hygienists’ Association. She is also an active member of the Association for Dental Safety and the American Dental Hygienists’ Association.
