Dr. David Barack began his academic career in Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry in 1978. He went on to complete a residency in Periodontics at UIC in 1984 and achieved Diplomate status with the American Board of Periodontology in 1991. From 1984 to 1997, he also served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UIC College of Dentistry.

In 1987, Dr. Barack completed advanced implant surgical training at the University of Texas–San Antonio and has since integrated implant surgery into his periodontal practice. For more than 30 years, his work has focused on implant surgery and reconstructive procedures, with the past decade dedicated to refining techniques for esthetic implant outcomes and immediate provisionalization in edentulous arches.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Barack has been committed to education, research, and service. He has authored peer-reviewed clinical papers, lectured nationally and internationally on implant surgery and regenerative techniques, and volunteered his expertise both locally in the Chicagoland area and abroad, including dental mission work in Honduras.
